H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide or sour gas) has a foul odour that is caused by the bacterial breakdown of organic matter. H2S is responsible for the unique and distinct odours of rotten eggs and flatulence. However, high levels of H2S will quickly deaden the sense of smell leaving potential sour gas victims unaware of its presence until it is too late.

Our state-of-the-art detectors and analysers are intended for early detection and location of pockets of H2S in gas wells that can lead to blowouts. Based on the information provided by the devices, site managers can assess the situation and determine whether to resume drilling or to take measures to suppress gas entry into the borehole.
